IGP(A) admission and scholarship eligibility are separate evaluations.
Not all IGP(A) successful applicants receive the MEXT scholarship. Students wishing to join my laboratory will enter to the Department of Information and Communication Enginnering . Last year, only one IGP(A) student who entered to our department received the scholarship.
Therefore, if you wish to receive the MEXT scholarship, it is desirable that you meet the following conditions.

1. The applicant’s home university must be a partner institution or hold a ranking equivalent to that of a partner institution in your home country. If there are no partner institutions, it must be a top-tier university in your home country.
2. Academic performance coefficient (calculated using the method at the URL below) of 2.6 or higher (a coefficient of 2.8 or higher is actually desirable)

If you wish to apply for IGP(A), please be sure to attach documents confirming these requirements when contacting us. Note that we will not respond if documents are not attached.
IGP(A) is a Master’s program or Integrated Doctoral Education Program, so upon admission, students will begin with the Master’s program. Therefore, even if the applicant has already completed a master’s program, note that the academic record used for IGP(A) selection will be the undergraduate academic record. (Students who have already completed a Master’s program may transfer some credits, but credits for research projects cannot be transferred)
Therefore, we strongly recommend careful consideration before applying to IGP(A).
The graduation requirements are stricter than for IGP(C), and once admitted to IGP(A), switching to IGP(C) is impossible.
